Men's O35 Div 2

Round 3

The 1sts game vs West Pymble was a tightly matched affair, with frustration growing as Ranger's passing game was consistently broken down by a well organised Pymble team.
That frustration eventually boiled over with Geoff 'the mouth' Linders was red carded for who the f*ck knows, and Ruud was sent off for a retaliation that almost put the old fella from W.Pymble on his bot.
The two case fine of premium beer will no doubt be drunk mainly by them next week, as they sit on the sideline, drinking and shouting boorish insults at the ref.
The team pulled itself together for the last 15 minutes with only 9 men, and amazingly seemed to get on top for much of it, putting away a final goal that sealed the game.

Here's some of the action from round 3.

Round 4
Round 4 was played on a beautiful sunny day at the home of football, Castle Cove. We were against the strange and unknown club St Michaels who are only represented in O35 from what i can see. Rumor has it that they are a Church social club, kicking goals for the glory of christ. Aparently god didn't get the memo and was busy elsewhere on Sat. 6 points to the rangers.

Reserves 4-1 win
A strong showing from the resies, who battled well against a highly rated St Michaels squad who never lived up to their reputation. After 30 minutes against a hungry rangers side, St michaels were looking the worse for wear and were starting to chase the ball. The domination continued into the second hand, and a strong header from kingy late in the second half made it 4 for the rangers, putting it beyond doubt. That was the first defeat the St Michaels res's have been handed this season, and it was done with style. The win leaves our reserves a point off the top of the table and a force to be reckoned with.

Some action from the second half. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcCrhfCbD94

Firsts 4-0 win
Although probably still not playing at the level they can, the effort on Sat was more than enough to bury a struggling St Michaels team.
Some flowing passing set the scene early in the first half, and johnny held the ball well up front and gave the attacking moves time to get momentum and shape. Linz made some great runs down the wing and put many kms into his boots, but Rangers struggled to use the advantage and the most of the moves petered out. rich was typicall strong through the middle, putting thru balls into space and getting the team moving forward. Hobbsy found some form and was finding the back of the net, forgetting the many near misses from last week.
Special mention has to go to the back 3 who were tighter than a nuns nasty and kept the St Michaels forwards from getting any momentum. Every long ball seemed to have Billy on the end of it and I don't think that St Micks had a decent shot the whole game.
Another good win boys, putting the rest of the teams in this comp on notice. Should be a good game in a couple of weeks against Nth Syd Bears who are also undefeated.

PS - FINALLY pinched the top of the table from the Bears with a 1 goal for/against advantage.

Don't have any video this week boys, but i saw Romy filming the 1sts...... Romy, you wanna send it to me and i'll hook it in?
